CALA0003 The Forest and the City, #1 (2019)

The images in this Los Angeles Series 1, Montage: The Forest and the City, are not intended to be an
exact representation of what I saw, of reality, unlike most of my other photography. Each image in the
series is an improvised spontaneous impression of the City. Portions of each frame were relocated and
combined on impulse until the composite montage suited me. The pieces relate to each other roughly
and do not always join together smoothly. Is this photographic impressionism? Is it visual jazz?
